A coalition of Fresno non-profit organizations asks community to consider sharing their rebate checks for the good of all.

Looking for a good place to donate? See our list below.

Fresno’s arts, cultural, social, and faith organizations have been greatly affected by the nation’s waning economy. We depend on public confidence and broad support to succeed, and now more than ever we need the public's financial support.

To jump-start the slowing economy, the President signed into effect the Economic Stimulus Package, and rebate checks will be coming our way in May. We are hoping that those who can afford to help will share all or part of their rebate with local non-profits.

National statistics and our own local study confirm that for every dollar spent on artistic, social, and cultural events circulates through the cycle again to local businesses in related spending. For every person attending a cultural or social event, $12 of additional spending is generated in purchasing refreshments, meals, clothes, hairdressers, babysitting, souvenirs, parking, and transportation — dollars that provide jobs that generate substantial revenues to local, state and Federal governments — the very dollars that augment the quality of life in our community.

Qualification to be on the FNAC list: the NPO is a current member of the FNAC. There is cost to the member organization, and FNAC does not receive money for providing this service.
